Jhameel of 2012!

I can see that my post about Jhameel's song that is titled "White Lie" has been clicked on quite a lot!  I'm not too surprised! That song was/is amazing.
I recently just heard a song by him that was released this year.
It is titled "Shadow of A Man".
Listen to it.
Choose your verdict.

Feel "Dirty"?......by Ben Taylor?

My Spotify radio station based off the track 'Time of the Season" by Ben Taylor Band, introduced me to this catchy song.

It's called "Dirty" and is apparently by Ben Taylor himself :)

Definitely check it out!!  I could only find the live version on YouTube.  So go buy it from the PlayStore or Itunes!

Gone In The Morning by Newton Faulkner

I just finished watching the movie "Morning Glory" with Rachel McAdams and Harrison Ford.  The movie was better than I was expecting!  I laughed quite a bit. A plus is, it's on Netflix.

But back to the topic of this post,  towards the end they played this really catchy song.  I 'shazamed' it right away, and found out it's "Gone In The Morning" by Newton Faulkner!

If you do anything today, listen to this song!  :)

If you have a Facebook profile, go show him respect and like his page! https://www.facebook.com/newtonfaulkner?fref=ts

My fave music -- LIVE!

I have tons of music, I love.  A lot of it, I don't even post about just because it would take decades ;)
I have a ustream profile and I've been playing a lot of my favorite songs!
Despite the fact that I've been playing music quite a bit, I still haven't even put a dent into my music collection.

I have the video link posted above (It's permanently on the site). Here is the hyperlink, just for kicks and giggles -- http://www.ustream.tv/channel/eclectic-tune-age

Please tune-in when I'm online!  If I'm live, it will have a red box in the bottom-right hand corner that says "LIVE".  If I am NOT live it will just say "OFF AIR" in the bottom-right hand corner.

Follow and enjoy!

"The Voice" Is The Bomb

I've been an avid watcher of "The Voice" season 3 ever since it started.  I absolutely enjoy watching this show at the beginning of all of my weeks!  It's a great way for me to start off my weeks.  Not only do the judges click really well, but there are some great artists, who put on some awesome performances, that pass through this show.

The video I'm going to share with you is the one of Team Ceelo's knockout rounds, where MacKenzie Bourg and Daniel Rosa compete.  They both sing a song they chose on their own.

For those of you who don't know, Daniel Rosa is from season two.  He didn't make it past the Blind Auditions, which I for one, thought was stupid! :P  Sometimes the judges confuse me, because they'll turn around for singers who don't sound that great, and they'll skip out on someone just because they make a tiny mistake.  Maybe they have some hidden checklist, or something.  Well anyways, I was in tears when Daniel Rosa was on his way home, because he was in tears.  Then I was one again in tears when he made it past season 3 blind auditions!  Some awesome tv moments right there.

So, please enjoy a clip from The Voice season 3!

(Btw I love MacKenzie Bourg's version of "Call Me Maybe".  Especially the last half.)

Two songs: Taylor Swift, Ben Taylor Band

It's been awhile!  I haven't been posting music, just because I've been soo busy with college and work.  Believe me, I still have been finding some amazing songs out in the world :)  I'm going to share a couple of them today......because I'm awesome.

First things first,
State of Grace by Taylor Swift. (From her new 2012 album "Red")

Second song,
Time of the Season by The Ben Taylor Band
I was watching the flick, Prom Night, and this was played at opening of the movie.  Purely addictive!

Have a great day and by golly, go listen to some dang music!

'Pitch Perfect' looks phenomenal!!

This movie looks amazing.  I've been waiting for it's release since July-ish.  You can imagine how excited I was when I found out it was showing in select theaters on September 28th.
Only bummer is, I have no way of finding out WHICH 'select theaters', so it's sucks a lot.

I would like to share a clip that they posted on the official 'Pitch Perfect' YouTube, so watch it!
Toodles!

Cups Used In A Song!!

I've recently just heard of this duo called "Lulu and the Lampshades" (Supposedly, they are now called "Landshapes").  And by recently, I mean I've just watched their most popular video in the past twenty minutes.

I have a small obsession with the upcoming movie, Pitch Perfect.  This is one of the songs that Anna Kendrick sings...I previewed it on Amazon.  I thought it had a pretty tune so I Googled it  to see who originally sang it.  The video below is one of the things that came up.

It's amazing actually how they incorporated cups into their song.  Using them as an instrument.  Enjoy!!

For those of you interested I'm also posting a cover of the song above.  I, personally, thing it's equally as good.  :)

"Kiss You Inside Out" by Hedley

I can't believe I JUST now heard this song!  It's simply amazing, I kid you not.  I heard it on the radio last night and as soon as it was over I bought it via my Android :)

Don't deprive your ears of this spectacular tune....listen to it!!

"It's not the years in your life . . ."

Today would have been my dear Papaw's 69th birthday.

In October it will be a year, since cancer took him away from us.  Let me just say, that the saying, "You don't know what you've got, 'til it's gone", is one of the most true statements I've heard since his passing .

Before he passed away, my Papaw could be referred to as "mean" or "bossy".  He could be both of those things.  Most of all, though, he loved his friends and family with all his heart.  He just had trouble showing it up until the last year.  We could tell when he was realizing how he had, on certain occasions, taken us for granted.  We each, in turn noticed how he was trying to make up for it, in our own timing.  I, personally, didn't notice until he had passed away.  The night before the funeral was to take place, I had dreams about him.

When I find myself missing him, like today, I have the most realistic dreams.

My Papaw was a tall man.  So tall, that when I (5'4"ish) was standing next to him, my head would be about half a foot below his shoulder.  That's what I miss most about him, I think.  I'm not sure why.  I think it was because he had this way of making you seem so secure just by placing an arm around your shoulder.  Which was his normal pose, with me, if I stood next to him.  He would gently place an around around my shoulder, which ended up being more of a hand rest for him.

I once had a dream about him doing his classic one-arm-sling-over-shoulder move.  I rested my head against him and it felt so real.  In my dream, I started crying though because I knew it wasn't real...I knew that it was going to end soon.  That's when I woke up, gasping for air, in reality I had been letting out small yet very real sobs.  I make none of it up.

It happened a lot the first 6 months after he passed.

I'm a military brat.  I've moved a lot ever since I was a wee child.  I'm used to not being near my Mammy and Papaw 24/7.  The fact that it's been a year since I've seen my Papaw still has trouble registering with my brain that it's because he's dead.  I feel like when I see my family this coming Christmas that it will all be normal again.  At least, that's what I feel deep deep down.  I know he's gone, but odd enough I can't get rid of that one little flicker of hope.

Maybe it's because one day, I will see him in Heaven?  That may be it, but it just saddens me knowing that I won't be seeing him anytime soon.  (That is, unless I die soon.)

There is so much I could write, and I've already written more than I had planned in the first place.

My little note to you, reading this, is cherish the moments with your family.  It's precious....limited...and when they're gone you'll find yourself searching for those small moments you didn't pay much attention to when they were happening.  --  Make those moments.

When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too;
When tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me I'm right here in your heart.

Tampon Basket!

Last night I was organizing my toiletry basket.  Tampons are everywhere.  They are behind shampoo, tangled in the power cord of my curling iron, 2 millimeters from being tucked inside my travel toothbrush holder -- Aunt Flo left a lot of my cousins behind last month.  I get stressed out over all the tampons, I'm beholding.  I start grabbing stuff and flinging it over my shoulder.

                        Bubble bath - gone!

                                                             Contact case - gone

                       Aloe - gone

Small random wicker basket with red ribbon - double gone!

.........REWIND.

I grab the small basket and look it over.  It'd be a perfect holder for my cousins.  One problem -- there are big holes in the bottom of the basket.  Tampons would easily slip through.

That's when the DYI machines in my head lost their dust and churned out an idea.   I was about to chuck a box that once held 18 or so tampons..then I realized..this could play a part in the rebirth of my DYI skills.

I broke down the tampon box and cut out a small square.  Trimmed it to fit inside the wicker basket.  All was well up until my girl-side came out.  It didn't look "pretty".  I could either read "Kotex" when I ran out of tampons or I could look at an ugly shade of brown.  Decisions, decisions.

In my peripheral , I spotted tissue paper. Aha!!

I covered the cardboard square with white tissue paper and then covered that with clear tape, because I can.  (Also, I feared that the tissue paper would tear easily, it being TISSUE PAPER and all. :P )

I ended up with a cute basket that hold my tampons comfortably.  Now they don't sit awkwardly in a pocket of a door-hanging organizer, next to my sunglasses.  Next item on the to-do list?  Start buying the same brand of tampon.

And the final product in it's new home, below :)

Isn't that red ribbon so convenient?  ;)

Banning The PB&J???

Let us stray momentarily away from the usual post seen here on Electic Adventures and approach the subject of the banning of PB&J sandwiches in a city of Arkansas.  I've never been PB&J's biggest fan, but come on.......it's a classic.

So, supposedly, a school in Viola, Arkansas has a ban on peanut containing products.

Which makes some sense, right?  I mean, it's your decision to sell peanut products or not.

The things is though, is that they confiscated the sandwich from a child at the school.  I personally don't think it's right to do that.  It's was the kid's own personal lunch.

Anyways, I found that article pretty fascinating.  Mostly because awhile back I read a news article saying that peanut butter was probably going to stop being produced!  Heeeeecck no, son!  I haven't read anything else about the latter recently.  I'll have to look it up though.  I may need to go out and buy 100 tubs of PB.

The link below will take you to the story.

"All Night Longer" by Sammy Adams

Like most of the music, I come about nowadays, I found this while sifting through Spotify.

(I say this about every time I post about Spotify, so I'll say it on this post as well.  -- You need to get Spotify.  It rocks!  The PC version is free ... it has few commercials.  The app costs after a trial version of a few days.  I just use the free PC version ;] )

So, back to the song!

The way this song was produced is pretty genius, in my opinion.  A video is posted below, so listen up ;)

Heads up: There's cussing.

"Bleeding Out" by Imagine Dragons

I first discovered this band by overhearing my little brother listen to their song, "It's Time" (another great song).  "Bleeding Out" is extremely catchy.  The melody deeply reminds me of something that B.o.B. would sing, that being said, LISTEN TO IT!

Disclaimer:  It sounds nothing like B.o.B. , so if you think B.o.B. sucks don't let my opinion stop you from listening to this treasure.

Go On, grab your backpack off of the floor.....

Unzip that pouch, pull those ear buds/ear phones out of that bid 'ole bag

Stuff those music makers into your ears-ies!

If you like the song, you can thank me......whenever you want.
Enjoy!

This is an instrumental performed by one of the guys from the John Butler Trio.  It's purely amazing!! The best guitar instrumental I have yet to hear :) You will not regret listening to it/watching the video! (If' you do, then that stinks!)

"Wish You Well" by Katie Herzig

This is a really great song. :) I heard a long time ago, but kind of lost it. I was united with Katie Herzig once again, when I was listening to some songs from the soundtracks for the show "Drop Dead Diva". I'm happy I did!

"Neon Lights" by Natasha Bedingfield

This song is super catchy :) It's off of her amazing 2010 cd named "Strip Me".  I can honestly admit that I like the WHOLE cd! If you like Natasha, I'm sure you will agree. Go take a listen.

50 Ways To Say Goodbye by Train

I went to the beach today! Afterwards, on the way to eat pizza, I was listening to the radio. I tuned into 107.1 A1A and the song named in the title of this post was playing. I loved it instantly! I know I say that a lot....but it's an addiction, I can't help it.

I hope you like it too :)
Enjoy!

"I Wish" by One Direction

This song is pretty great :)

Heard it while listening to the new One Direction album "Up All Night" on Spotify. I enjoyed all of the songs!

My faves in order of, what I really like-to-what I also really like, from the album are:
1) I Wish
2) One Thing
3) What Makes You Beautiful
4) Taken
5) Same Mistakes
6) Tell Me A Lie

I just finished listening to the album, So I can't really remember the ones at the end. (I'm listening to the whole album again, as I type all this out)    ;)

You need to check out this whole album, I will share "I Wish" though. :)
The next two on my list are being overplayed on the radio at the moment, so I'd skip those if I were you, if that kind of thing bothers you.

Before I post the video, I'd also like to say that everyone who reads this should google Spotify. Made my life close to perfect :)

Big Girl (You Are Beautiful) by Mika

I found this song because I recently started watching the show "Ugly Betty" from the very beginning. (That show is pretty funny/great!)

Back to the music -- I think Mika make some unique songs, so I think you should check out this song before judging it :)

Flying Solo by Kari Kimmel

First off, I'd like to explain how I'm came about Kari Kimmel.
It all began when I started watching the ABC Family show named "Jane by Design". I heard this catchy upbeat song in the background and was like "ooooo Chelsea likey". Seeing how I was watching the show via Netflix on the laptop, I just opened a new tab and speedily typed the lyrics I heard into google.

The song that came up was, in fact, not "Flying Solo". It was actually "GO".

I just loved the song "Flying Solo" because it reminds me more of a less-tattoo-more-butterflies version of "Ridin' Solo".

"Flying Solo" by Kari Kimmel

(For the record, I love the song "Ridin' Solo". Nothing says "I'm over you and every other fish out there, bleepity bleep" as well as "Ridin' Solo" does.)

I want you to listen to "Flying Solo". Yeesss, it may sound like something out of one of the Princess Diaries movies, but when you're going through a forever-alone moment you will be happy to have this pretty song. :)

After you listen to that, go and listen to "GO"!

It's been a good post. I am pleased.

Right Here (Departed) by Brandy

I have this feeling deep down that I've heard this song before. But needless to say I fell in love (again, possibly) when I heard it playing in Aeropostale. :)
This is just one of the songs I absolutely adore on Brandy's album "Human".

Other songs from the album I like include: Long Distance, True, and Camouflage.

I highly recommend that you go check out her CD.

Have an awesome music filled day!

Castles by B.o.B.

I was in search of new music to download and I realized it's been awhile since I heard of B.o.B. so I searched his name in Itunes. I was surprised (in a good way) that he had a new cd! I previewed his whole cd "Strange Clouds" and came out with a few favorites!

-"Both of Us" features Taylor Swift. It's listed first in this post so obviously it isn't the best, in my opinion. I wish they sang together....as in at the same time. It's a nice song though.

-"So Good" is SO GOOD ;) It's way different than his first major hit, "Magic".

-My all-time favorite on the cd is "Castles"!!! Trey Songz....your voice sounds amazing in this song. Good job, dude!

Anyways. Go listen to that cd. It's some good stuff.

Vampire Diaries Introduced Me To Jason Walker

I have just became aware of Jason Walker's existence today...What a shame!
This is how I heard of him.

I was in my room and my older brother was watching TV in the living room. Since mom wasn't home, he had it pretty loud. So, I could pretty much hear the whole show, word-for-word. And I'm not gonna lie, some TV shows sound completely ridiculous....good thing they're not radio shows! The one part that made me think of this went down like this:

Jenna: Why are you here, Logan?

Logan: I missed you. I was out of town.

Jenna: Yeah, I got that email.

Logan: You got an email?

Jenna: You didn't send an email?

Logan: I can explain. Just invite me in and I'll tell you everything.

Jenna: I'm not gonna invite you in. Forget it!

When I heard that conversation, I couldn't help but snicker. I later found our the story behind he reason for begging her to invite him in.

Back to Jason Walker! After she closes the door on Logan, she starts crying. All the while, a song has started by the name of "Down" by Jason Walker. Right after I heard it, I googled the lyrics.
It's a good song :)

Coolest "Maple Leaf Rag" I've heard in a long time!

I was browsing though YouTube that way I like to think a lot of people browse through it......by clicking through a never ending  thread of related videos. My rabbit-trail adventure led me to this video. Let me just say, I highly enjoy listening to the piano being played! Especially when it's fast-paced. :) So watch this amazing video and go like it on YouTube!! This guy deserves the "likes"!

Springsteen by Eric Church

It's been awhile since I posted a country song. So, here's a country song I absolutely love! Springsteen by Eric Church. It's an amazing song, in my opinion and it's also extremely catchy. (I think it's even more catchy than 'Smoke a Little Smoke'.)

Listen to it! You know you want to!

Talk About Annoying.....

So, I don't know if it's just my ipod, but after plugging it into my laptop via a USB cord all my music will randomly not show up in my ipod's library. I immediately start freaking out mentally, click the home screen and then go back into the music library just to find the same message. So I plug the ipod into my computer again and all is well!

What is up with that?? It's happened multiple times...I can't remember if this happened before I dropped my ipod in a toilet. I think it did. It's a huge bother!

Here's a new song by Maroon 5 to get our minds away from such bad news. Enjoy!

Those songs that describe exactly how you feel.

So I'm in a, the-guy-I-really-like-(nudge)-is-really-crowding-my-thoughts-these-days, kind of mood.  When I'm in these kinds of moods I flood myself with music that doesn't exactly help matters. The songs I listen to pretty much confirm my depressing thoughts, but I can't help but listen to them. It's really addicting! I don't know if I'm the only one who does that...I highly doubt I am.

I'm going to share some of the songs that are really describing me and my situation right now.

So Close by Jon McLaughlin

Doesn't Mean Anything by Alicia Keys

Breathe by Taylor Swift

This is the song I listened to before the realtionship ended. It seemed so ironic when I first heard it on the radio because of the part "I've been waiting all day for you to call me..." He never called unless I asked. :P So I literally waited all day....until I just wimped out and asked. Anyways this is Brokenhearted by Karmin. (I know I've posted about it already.)

Brokenhearted by ......

This song is super catchy! When I first heard it I thought it was Jessie J....but then she kind of sounded like Katy Perry....and then at one part I was was like Nicki Minaj? So I concluded that it was an ingenius combination and history had been made by this one song! (Now I sort of want a Jessie J/Katy Perry/Nicki Minaj song to come out.)
Well despite my crazy ears misleading me, this song is actually sung by a duo called Karmin! (The male doesn't actually sing in this song. They have original songs which he usually sings backup in.) You should definitely check them out on YouTube and the song is worth the price on Itunes.

The Light by Saara Bareilles

While "flipping" through YouTube's music I found this song. Let me just say, I absolutely LOVE it. It's extremely beautiful. The music. The lyrics. The music paired with the lyrics. It's definitely a win when it comes to music! Also, some people mentioned in comments that it reminded them of Peeta and Katniss from the Hunger Games. So now I love the song even more because it totally reminds me of them two! I'd love it if the song were put into one of the future film sequals. It would be so awesome! Anyways, gear up your ears and listen to this track by Sara Bareilles!

Hunger Games--Team Peeta!!

PEETA

peeta

PeEtA

PEEEEETAAA

If you can't tell, I'm a die-hard Peeta fan. I have yet to read the books, but I just find the fact that he has loved her for a long time...well I just find it adorable. (Plus, Josh Hutherson is a complete cutie.)
Off-topic: Who else watched Bridge to Terabithia and thought "Daaang, that boy is gonna be so cute when he grows up". Little did I know it'd be sooo stinkin true! Don't you love his jaw?
Well anyways, I plan on reading the first book starting Monday because I'm going on a long flight and I just LOVED the movie. I heard the book s better than the movie so I can't wait! I'm stoked about the second movie :)

Country Fan or Not....

Even if you're not a country fan you should listen to this song. The lyrics are so powerful in my opinion..I'm just in love with it! I listen to it over and over again -- Back to back! (In my imagination, he notices his stressful task of trying to make her stop loving him has caused him to love her again and a lot more than before. The thought of never holding HER hand ever again and never looking into HER eyes makes him dizzy. He strives to win her heart once more.  After a long journey of pouring out his heart, success rains down and they live a love-filled, meet-me-in-the-middle kind of life while raising their four adorable children, confident that no matter what else comes they'll always fight the hard times together!) Like I said, that's just my imagination, but I highly reccommend you forget genres and take a listen.

If you ARE a country fan, then I'm pretty sure you either already love this song or will end up loving it. At least, that's what I wish. ;)
So, enjoy!

Butter Beer (For those of you who don't know it isn't an alcoholic drink)

Me and my friend were craving Harry Potter's famous ButterBeer.

Were we going to drive apporx two hours to Universal to get them? No! We decided to make it homemade! Below is the recipe we used. I found the recipe kind of complicating and wouldn't reccommend it if you just wanted to try it. And it doesn't seem like a simple treat to make....I would probably end up just stirring some Nesquick in some milk for a sweet drink rather than go about that recipe again. I mean, it was pretty good....waaaay too sweet for me though, so I poured my glass of ButterBeer into a blender and added ice. I couldn't put it down after that!
(Just fyi, when I visited Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter I had the frozen ButterBeer not the original so I'm not entirely sure if the drink was accurate.) My friend said that she liked it and it tasted good, but it wasn't ButterBeer.

The complicated ButterBeer recipe - http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2010/07/02/harry-potters-butterbeer-recipe-uncovered/

This is a different version of the recipe I plan on trying soon just to see how different it tastes. It's super easy....takes about 10 min tops to prepare compared to the hour or so long one. (P.S. The recipe below is more of a iced coffee looking "texture". The complicated recipe is basically a creamy soda...which is what the original is. And when I say creamy I'm not referring to the base, cream soda. I'm referring to the heavy whipping cream involved. Don't let that scare you though! Like I said above, my friend thought it tasted good.)
