This is a story I started writing out of inspiration one night. That's how a majority of my pieces begin. Anyways, I wrote quite a bit, and depending on the responses I get to it I will continues posting sections of it. (I have posted it on a couple other sites, other than blogger.) So please, read and enjoy! :) Comments are welcomed and appreciated!

“Thank you so much Gretchen! I really can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am. Her dad cancelled his weekend yet again; otherwise I would’ve switched hours with a coworker.” Tracey spit out all the words making it evident how stressed she was. “Plus she adores you!”
“It’s really alright. I adore her also! It’s all a pleasure for me. Lois is such a dear to talk with; She is so wise beyond her years.” Gretchen patted Tracey’s hand that she held, reassuring her with a smile.
“I’ll be by at nine to pick her up. Thank you so much again!” Tracey reeled Gretchen into a tight hug then kissed Lois on the cheek.
Gretchen and Lois waved goodbye as Tracey, backed out of the driveway and disappeared down the street.
Turning to Gretchen, Lois was not one to beat around the bush. “Do you know any love stories?” A bit surprised at the odd request, Gretchen didn’t answer at first. This caused Lois no hesitation at all. “We’ve been reading about Romeo and Juliet in school, and I’ve gotten into love stories, recently.” She plopped down into one of the wicker chairs on Gretchen’s porch.
Recovered from her astonishment, Gretchen spoke. “Sure, I do. It’s the best one of the all; better than Romeo and Juliet, even.”
Lois smiled in anticipation, clapping her hands. “Let’s hear it!”
Gretchen slid onto a wicker chair near Lois’. “They had been friends for a few years before they decided to get married. It was a very spontaneous thing, actually. Especially for those two kids.” Gretchen laughed at the almost-forgotten memory. “People called them crazy…”

Gretchen splashed around the water as she ran through the cold, salty waves. “I feel so free!” She yelled out to the ocean. Two of her three friends were running through the waves a small distance away, laughing, creating all kinds of ruckus. It was difficult to see them, with only the moon as light.
Douglas grabbed Gretchen’s arm as she started to dash past him. He pulled her lightly to him and placed a light kiss on her lips. Gretchen pulled away from him, smiling. She was breathless and extremely surprised at what happened, but happy. Very happy.———————————————————————————
