Singer-songwriter. That's me.

Or at least, I'm a wannabe singer-songwriter.

Check out one of my most recent songs, I've written!  Leave me some feedback and love.  :)

Gotta love radio.

I was driving from college to work today,
and just happened to be on a channel that was playing a song that was not 'Summertime Sadness' or 'Same Love'.  [I seriously happened to tune into a station that was playing a remix of 'Summertime Sadness'.  As if we aren't hearing it enough already.]  Naturally, I kept listening to this song that hasn't been overplayed.  [Yet.]

[Songs can get on the verge of 'disgustingly overplayed', like those two above.]

That wasn't the only reason I kept listening, though.
It's a new single from an amazing artist.  I seriously have quite a few faves by this artist.

Okay, okay, the artist's name is.....
...
...
...

Jason Derulo!

I promise you that I am not referring to 'The Other Side'.  Honestly, I'm kind of sick of that one too.  It's about to get 'disgustingly overplayed', in my area of the world.

The song I heard today is titled 'Marry Me'.  I'll have to be honest, at the moment that I tuned into it I only stayed because I heard a really goofy line.  You'll know the line, when you hear it. [I think.]

But, check it.  The song.

[P.S. The 'goofy line' is literally the first line. I just thought it was...interesting.]

Churchill. New music for you!

So, my dear Spotify recommended this to me!

It was suggested due to my interest in Lorde and Delta Rae.

If you like either of those, I'm sure you will like this group.  :)

Take a listen and be impressed.
Have a good 'rest of the evening', folks.

Music, Music, Music

I write music...yes, the cat's out of the bag, so to speak.
I plan on posting snippets (of and possibly whole) songs on Youtube.

So, keep up with it, if you're interested.  :)  Please give feedback too...it's always appreciated!

In the meantime, check out this most recent YT snippet.

And the first one I posted.

Do you like music?

Of course you do!

Well, do I have a treat for you.

As you may or may not know, I like to write.  It varies from stories to poems...to songs.  I've been mostly writing songs lately.  Only thing is, I'm not a big 'sharer of what you create'I'm about to change that though!

So, I recently wrote a new song. As in 'recent' I mean, that I wrote it on the twelfth of this month.  Soo, two days ago.  (If I can post this before midnight.)

I know this is a lot of writing, and I really hope you are still reading.  If you are then you will get to hear a snippet of the song I am referring to!  It's is titled "Just Wanted To Let You Know".  I'm still debating on if I want to share full songs.  I'm worried about the stealing and stuff, but only time will tell.

So, please listen up!  Tell me what you think.  :)

Five Songs - Happy UnBirthday!

Believe it or not, I am not the Mad Hatter disguising as an awesome music blogger.  I am just a person wanting to share music.
And I have five songs, just because that's how great I am.

1)  Love Actually by Cady Groves. I heard this while searching for her newest music on YouTube.  I've been a fan of her since, "This Little Girl".
2) Any Way You Want It by Journey. This song is just too superb.  It would be a crime not to share it.  Journey is a great group.  "Faithfully" is one of my faves.

3) I Hate Myself For Loving You by Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. I just really like this song.  You will too, I know it.

4) I'm Alive (Life Sounds Like) by Michael Franti & Spearhead. If you liked the song "Say Hey, I Love You" then we are best friends across the distance.  Oh, and I think you'll enjoy this song.
5)  Done. by The Band Perry.  I can't tell you how many times, I've listened to this song.  (Way too many times.)  It's definitely one of my 'Top Five" by them.  It comes after "Better Dig Two" and "Mother Like Mine".

Listen up, people.  You will not be sorry.  *smile*

I've Got This Friend (Song)

I heard this song while listening to one of my Spotify radio stations.  It is an adorable song, in my opinion.
I heard it awhile ago, but I listened to it the other day and wanted to share it with the world.

It deserves to be heard over and over again.

I'll Be Your Soldier...(Gavin Degraw)

I absolutely adore this song.  I have ever since it came out.

Side note:  Gavin Degraw has a sexy voice.

"I'll get it if you need it,
I'll search if you don't see it,
You're thirsty, I'll be rain,
You get hurt, I'll take your pain.

I know you don't believe it,
But I said it and I still mean it,
When you heard what I told you,
When you get worried I'll be your soldier."

Doesn't that sound so amazing?

Below is an A Capella version of the song by "Straight No Chaser".

KARMIN ~ Love This Duo

It's official, the all-wonderful "Karmin" have a new song!  It came out in June, so I'm a wee bit sad that I missed the debut.  BUT, the debut for me was today!! So yay.  :)

"Acapella", is the name and it's so catchy.  You MUST listen to the end.
 There's a funny part.
 (Funny to me at least.)

And I've said this many times recently, but

    THIS NEEDS TO BE MAINSTREAM.

"Just Another Story" Part Two

                                                          ~*~
Gretchen grabbed Douglas’ hand then faced the judge.  “You may kiss the bride,” he said in a bored like tone.  Despite his lack of enthusiasm, Gretchen and Douglas shared a deep smile then leaned into a tender kiss.  Pulling back, they gazed into each other’s eyes, excited about what the future held for the two of them.

“So, did they get married out of forbidden love?”  Lois’ eyes were as round as marbles as she desperately waited for Gretchen’s response.
Gretchen grinned.  “Hardly.  He had been sworn the military awhile before they decided to get married, and he was supposed to leave the next day for boot camp.  They had gotten really close three weeks before he was to leave, so they just went with their hearts.”  Closing her eyes, she thought back. “They cared for each other, so much.”
Lois pouted, “I don’t see how people can marry without love.”  She rested her elbows on her knees, holding the pout in place.
“Well, sometimes love can grow.”  Gretchen smiled to ease Lois’ moping.
“Was that their case?”  Lois perked up instantly.
Laughing, she dodged her question. “I haven’t even gotten halfway into the story.  How about I just continue telling it?”
“This better be good.”  Lois leaned back into the chair.

Douglas grabbed Gretchen’s ring-less, left hand, “I can’t believe we actually did it, wife!”  He lifted her hand to his lips and kissed the back of it, clearly pleased.
Gretchen smiled, her heart fluttering at the unusual act from Douglas, “Me neither. I’m glad we did though!”
Douglas smiled in response, dropping her hand.
They walked passed shop windows, chatting about small things for what could’ve been hours, but in reality was only less than one.  “What do you want to do before you leave?” Gretchen asked innocently.
Douglas stopped and faced her, sending a wink, “What do you want to do, Gretch?”

"Just Another Story"Part One

This is a story I started writing out of inspiration one night.  That's how a majority of my pieces begin.  Anyways, I wrote quite a bit, and depending on the responses I get to it I will continues posting sections of it.  (I have posted it on a couple other sites, other than blogger.)  So please, read and enjoy!  :)  Comments are welcomed and appreciated!
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
“Thank you so much Gretchen! I really can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am.  Her dad cancelled his weekend yet again; otherwise I would’ve switched hours with a coworker.”  Tracey spit out all the words making it evident how stressed she was.  “Plus she adores you!”
“It’s really alright.  I adore her also!  It’s all a pleasure for me.  Lois is such a dear to talk with; She is so wise beyond her years.”  Gretchen patted Tracey’s hand that she held, reassuring her with a smile.
“I’ll be by at nine to pick her up.  Thank you so much again!”  Tracey reeled Gretchen into a tight hug then kissed Lois on the cheek.
Gretchen and Lois waved goodbye as Tracey, backed out of the driveway and disappeared down the street.
Turning to Gretchen, Lois was not one to beat around the bush. “Do you know any love stories?”  A bit surprised at the odd request, Gretchen didn’t answer at first.  This caused Lois no hesitation at all. “We’ve been reading about Romeo and Juliet in school, and I’ve gotten into love stories, recently.”  She plopped down into one of the wicker chairs on Gretchen’s porch.
Recovered from her astonishment, Gretchen spoke.  “Sure, I do.  It’s the best one of the all; better than Romeo and Juliet, even.”
Lois smiled in anticipation, clapping her hands. “Let’s hear it!”
Gretchen slid onto a wicker chair near Lois’.  “They had been friends for a few years before they decided to get married.  It was a very spontaneous thing, actually.  Especially for those two kids.”  Gretchen laughed at the almost-forgotten memory.  “People called them crazy…”

——————————————————————————
Gretchen splashed around the water as she ran through the cold, salty waves.  “I feel so free!”  She yelled out to the ocean.  Two of her three friends were running through the waves a small distance away, laughing, creating all kinds of ruckus.  It was difficult to see them, with only the moon as light.
Douglas grabbed Gretchen’s arm as she started to dash past him.  He pulled her lightly to him and placed a light kiss on her lips.  Gretchen pulled away from him, smiling.  She was breathless and extremely surprised at what happened, but happy.  Very happy.———————————————————————————

"Tip toes" by Jaymee Dee

Not only is her name spelled in the most fascinating way I've ever seen, but her song "Tip Toes" is just so freaking catchy.  It's catchy in a girly way though, so male-people beware.

ACTUALLY, IF YOU LIKED "Call Me Maybe" then you'll like this song.  Now, boys, don't pretend like you're all macho.  I mean seriously, I can't even count how many of my male friends admitted to liking CMM.  They sang along to it, more than I did.  That says a lot.  Too much, in fact.

Let's all do Jaymee dear a favor and listen to her catchy song.  I honestly would LOVE to hear it on the radio.  It deserves mainstream  folks.  (STUFF JUST GOT SERIOUS.)

So, open your ears and be made happy.

Catchy Song? Here's one!

"Two Pieces" by Demi Lovato.  It's really catchy.  Tittle says it all.
I like almost all of the songs on Demi's new album, "Demi".  It's not because I'm a die-hard fan, because I am FAAR from that.

Trust me.

(Btw, the songs are too new, so there are not good videos on YouTube.  Check it out on Spotify, like me, or use some other source.)

Perks of Being A Wallflower (Movie)

I just watched this movie about a week ago.  I loved it.  I'll be honest, and admit that I did cry once or twice.....or maybe more.

It's a film starring Emma Watson, Logan Lerman (from Percy Jackson), and Ezra Miller as the three main loved characters. "An introvert freshman is taken under the wings of two seniors who welcome him to the real world", is all IMDB.com says about the film, but I got to say it is way more than that.  I guess they chose such a lame description because this film is just....indescribable.

My favorite scene from the movie is by far, the home coming dance scene.  It's a scene where Sam (Watson) and Patrick (Miller) ,perform their "living room routine" which invlolves some extremely goofy dance moves.  But don't let that fool you, it looks so crazy and fun that you will want to jump right in and join those two even though they are the only ones dancing crazy like that.  Don't believe me?  Ask Charlie (Lerman), he joined them on the middle of the basketball court to partake in their fun.

Best part of the scene, is that it's played to "Come On Eileen" by Dexy's Midnight Runners!  Watch the scene below!  Then go rent the movie from RedBox!  (Or buy the book.  Which is what I'm planning on doing now.)

For some reason the YouTube videos are not playing when I add them through the blog.  So I'll link it here.

Dresses, skirts, jewelry...oh my!

Guess where I found out about the site I'm about to share.....

If you guessed Pinterest.com then you are correct!

Let me just say, that there are a ton of adorable dresses on here!  But that isn't all there is.  Don't let the website domain fool you.  There are accessories and even men's clothing!

About 8 days ago, I ordered four dresses and it came to a total cost of almost $60.  That includes shipping and handling.  (Two of the dresses I chose are below.  Both were under $9.)

The only downer to this all, is that unless you pay an arm and leg for faster shipping or you order an item that 'ships in 24 hours', your order can take up to a month to arrive.  Maybe even longer.
It's been over a week and my order is still in the process of being processed.

I personally wouldn't have purchased from this website because I didn't know how credible it is.  One my friends needed a cute dress to wear to a wedding that is this week and she found a cute one that shipped in 24 hours.  Needless to say, she has the dress and she payed less than $20 for a cute dress!  That is the only reason why I actually purchased from here :)

When my dresses are finally being shipped, I'll put it on here!  And I'll definitely post about when they arrive!  *fingers crossed*

Go check out the site!  Determine it's credibility on your own.  If you decide to buy something and that item happens to ship in 24 hours, let me know how it looks and the quality!

Have a very Eclectic-Adventure filled night!

GIANT CHOCOLATE COOKIE

Yes, you read the title correctly.  If you got excited about it, it probably means you're enjoying single-life too much.  I know that is the case for me.  I mean seriously......you have the option of baking a giant, chocolate-y cookie JUST for you, or making a whole batch that you give to your boyfriend, just because you're a sweetie.  I'll take the first option!

So, as many of you probably do not know....I LOVE PINTEREST.  Yes, Pinterest.com.  The addicting website where you see millions of awesome things daily.  I put a link to my Pinterest profile in the "Understanding Eclectic Adventures" page above, but here you go for the people as lazy as me.   --> My Pinterest

I caught a glimpse of a giant chocolate cookie in my main feed one day, and I've been dreaming of it every night ever since then.  So today, I actually made myself bake.  (I hate baking.)  But who can go wrong with just one cookie.

1 XXL Death by Chocolate Cookie - recipe for only 1 huge cookie

Doesn't it look gorgeous???  Mine looked a little different...mainly because I only had mini morsels in the house :(  I would have totally gone for the bigger ones if I had the choice.
I am purposely NOT going to post the recipe on here because I want you to go visit her website!  I love it already and I only found out about it last night!
So, enjoy the link to the giant chocolate cookie recipe, as well as links (on her website) to other flavors of giant cookies!

In case, the link doesn't work, her website is called sallysbakingaddiction.com.

Copy-Cat Starbucks Drink

So, I recently "stumbled" upon a copy-cat recipe for the bottled Starbucks drinks.  I didn't exactly "stumble"...it was on Pinterest...on my main feed.  But that isn't the point!

The point is, it is amazing.  I can't imagine life without it anymore.

It tastes..
perfect..
smooth...
AMAZING....
DELICIOUS!!!!!

I don't really know how to describe beside saying that, I will no longer (knock on wood) buy the bottled versions anymore.  This is probably WAY cheaper and if I'm craving it at home and don't want to get out my comfy sweats, I can make it right then!

It's like fate.  I think I am supposed to marry this recipe.  I mean if there are signs...right?

Something In Common by Free Energy

I just now watched the movie "Life As We Know It".  Let me say that I LOVED it!  I liked it so much that I 'liked' the Facebook page.  And, folks, I only do that to movies I would watch multiple times.
(For example:  You've Got Mail, Hunger Games, Wreck-It Ralph, Beauty And The Beast, and Inception.)

The song I'm blogging about is actually from the movie.  Shocker, right?

So......listen to this song.  Then watch the movie so you can "search" for the song in it  :)

                                                 Later, peeps!

Conspiracy Theory Of 2012

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the Sandy Hook massacre.  Just the thought of hearing of such a thing is dreadful.....and imaging all those kids being shot and killed.  Well......watching this video will bring to light some minor facts that seem off.
Watch it with an open mind, and decide for yourself if you honestly trust this government of ours.  The video linked below will blow your mind completely.
Sandy Hook Conspiracy

I, for one, am all about conspiracy theories.  They have always fascinated me.....ever since watching "Conspiracy Theory" starring Mel Gibson.

If the video starts making you think, then share it to your friends and make them think too.

Have a great weekend, folks.

Short Story Written by Yours Truly.

Sara let down the tailgate of her truck and bounced onto the make-shift seat.  Crickets were chirping in the background; the soothing noise forced her eyes shut.  Laying on her back, she opened her eyes and stared up at the vast amount of stars in the night sky.  Hundreds of stars spread out in a way only God could plan. "So Beautiful", she said aloud
"If you're there long enough you may see a shooting star".  Recognizing the voice, Sara wasn't too startled.
"Hey, Jacob", you could hear the smile in her voice.  Closing her eyes she reveled in the moment...Jacob and the chirp of many crickets.
She felt the the truck shift slightly, which meant that he had joined her on the truck bed.  She chose to open her eyes again, when she heard a voice near her head.  Beside her was Jacob's head, but he was looking at the stars like she had been doing.  He turned toward her just as she was about to look away.
"Hey, silly, I asked how your day was."
"It' was alright."  Sara smiled to remove additional questions.
Placing her hands behind her head and forcing her gaze upward again, she could feel him getting ready to say something.  She wasn't expecting what came, though.
"I pray your birthday comes and nobody calls, I pray you're flying high when you're engine stalls.  I pray your dreams never come true!", he belted out in a purposely off-key voice.
Jacob and Sara had a secret way to tell each other when they were annoyed at the other.  They would sing lyrics from the song "Pray For You"
Sara laughed out loud then sat up to where she was looking down at him.  "Why am I annoying you?"
He mimicked her sitting position and looked her in the eyes, "Because you're lying about your day."
